Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form goes to the outside provider that returns the sponsored results. Tennessee People Search does not save those entries on its own servers. A direct message includes only what you decide to send, and that information is used to answer the inquiry.
Information Collected Automatically
Standard hosting logs can record an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. Aggregated log data helps maintain the service and show which Tennessee resources visitors use. Cookies or similar tools may support basic traffic analytics and advertising measurement where applicable.
How the Data Is Used
Limited visitor data supports site operation, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and page improvements. We neither sell a visitor list nor create individual user profiles.
Privacy on Linked Services
Links lead to Tennessee agencies, county offices, courts, libraries, archives, and outside search services. Information entered after following a link is controlled by that destination's privacy policy. The same rule applies to sponsored results supplied by a third party.
Limited Data Sharing
Hosting and support vendors process server logs for the site. Analytics and advertising providers may receive the automatic data already described. Visitor data may also be disclosed when valid legal process requires it; otherwise it is not shared.
Security and Retention
An encrypted connection protects data in transit. Server logs are retained only as long as needed for the uses stated here. The site has no visitor account system, so it does not hold user passwords or account profiles.
Visitors Under Age 18
Tennessee People Search is meant for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect a minor's personal information. Contact us if a person under 18 submitted such information so it can be deleted.
Tennessee Privacy Rights
The Tennessee Information Protection Act, Tenn. Code Ann. ยงยง 47-18-3301 et seq., took effect July 1, 2025. For covered processing, it provides authenticated rights that can include confirmation, access, correction, deletion, a portable copy, and opt-outs from sale, targeted advertising, and qualifying profiling. It also provides an appeal path after a controller denies a request. The Tennessee Attorney General has exclusive enforcement authority.
Requests to Tennessee People Search may cover the limited contact or server-log data it holds; use the Contact page. TIPA does not erase a lawful deed, court filing, voter record, or tax roll. Questions about an official record, including correction or any available redaction process, must go to its Tennessee custodian.
